Our SKYWARN role is to assist the National Weather Service in obtaining critical weather information through a network of trained severe weather spotters. This information, coupled with radar, satellite and other data enables the National Weather Service to issue more timely and accurate warnings to the public for Tornados, Severe Thunderstorms, and Flash Floods.
To learn how you can assist the National Weather Service as a Severe Local Storm Spotter or for more information, please contact Tim Talbert, the Pinellas County SKYWARN Coordinator and check the SKYWARN Training page. You may also read our Pinellas SKYWARN Operational Guidelines Policy and Procedures document which addresses how Pinellas operates SKYWARN.
Please join us on one of our regular Tuesday Night Nets at 7:30 PM to learn more about SKYWARN.
