PINELLAS COUNTY ACS/ARES EMERGENCY

NET OPERATIONS CHECKLIST


I. Emergency Net Operations Proceedures

A. Notification - GOTO Primary ACS/ARES Net Frequency 145.170

1. Call for ACS/ARES COMMAND PERSONNEL until one is reached and can assume ACS/ARES command.

B. ACS/ARES net operations
1. Establish initial net operations on the 145.170 repeater, using the established net protocol guide.
2 Have others advise the other repeaters of the emergency.
3. Establish Resource Net frequency and net control for incoming volunteers in advance of possible shelter operations.

4. Recruit someone to audio tape all nets.
5. Mention the current time frequently.
6. Establish a different repeater/frequency as a hot backup. (See frequency assignment - Comm Plan)
7. All initial announcements are to be made on the primary ACS/ARES frequency, then all personnel will move to their assigned
operational frequencies.

8. All personnel should then be on the assigned Resource Net frequency and remain there until assigned and/or cleared by
the Resource Net Control Operator. Assigned personnel should then be monitoring their assigned net frequency.

9. All personnel should remain available unless excused by the NCS on their assigned frequency.

C. Response destinations of ACS/ARES members if warranted by the severity of events. The purpose of getting ACS/ARES members to
these destinations, is to have ACS/ARES ready to perform when requested or needed. They are to OBSERVE AND REPORT
until requested for particular needs. An example of the need for ACS/ARES members to respond to an emergency scene would be
the need to report damage assessment to the Red Cross and/or NWS.
